According to Alexander Novikov, a general practitioner at Poliklinika.ru, the disease often begins with symptoms similar to the common flu: a sharp rise in temperature, severe headaches, muscle pain, and fatigue. The virus affects the nervous system, causing some patients to experience confusion and seizures. In severe cases, the infection can lead to coma and acute respiratory failure, he explained.
