This project is declared as a test
- Do you have a test plan with predefined task volumes and a given timeline?
- Will a native application for BOINC be developed or will the current structure remain: wrapper - BAT file - external application?
- Will there be any other applications in this project, incl. at the testing stage?
- Will there be a formal transition to the productive stage with the launch of a new server from scratch?

Or will the project goals be achieved on the current server with a smooth transition to basic calculations and application refinement on the fly?

The answers to these questions will help crunchers plan which computing power to use in a project now and in the future.

How so ? I've always crunched on the fly with no regards to the current projects I'm running. Wuprop promotes this sort of crunching for crunchers to accumulate hr's. Once a new Project or App comes out it's off to the new & out with the old ... lol

You are perfectly welcome to crunch the various projects the way you wish, your contributions are always warmly welcomed!!!

Accept, however, that not everyone has the same approach.

Best of luck.

What is the purpose of the test?

On Stats - COVID.SI I see target corona_3CLpro_v3 and progress ~52% complete.

Here at SiDock@home [test] I see 7.209% complete for the same target.

Are we calculating the same packages here as a test to compare them?

Here we are calculating unique packages for the same target (going from the other end of the library).

The test project is mostly to automate data processing before going into a "real" project :)
But the tasks (and results) are real and unique.

Thanks Natalia for responding.

Nice that we are doing real work.

Dear Crystal,

In COVID.SI we are screening only small proportion cca 5 % of the whole database of 1 Billion compounds to target corona_3CLpro_v3, with our own server/client system ( https://covid.si/en/quick-start/ ) , and now we did 56 % of the task. The COVID:SI right now are working on modifications that will allow to run boutique projects, for example
virtual screening of compounds isolated from traditional Chinese medicine to certain targets.

In SiDock@home [test] we are screening 1 Billion compounds to the same target.

If we turn to the numbers:

56% on COVID.SI - approximately 28 M compounds screened
7,2 % on SiDock@home [test] - approx 72 M compounds screened

Technically we have 500 000 packets with 2000 compound each. In COVID.SI we are running in direction from 1 -> 25 000 and in SiDock@home from 500 000 -> 25 000

All the best,

ÄŚrtomir, COVID.SI

I discovered 2 tasks on one system of mine only differencing 1 figure:
sidocktest corona_3CLpro_v3_nb3di_433178_4_0
sidocktest corona_3CLpro_v3_nb3di_433178_1_0

It seems you divided the packages into 4 for each BOINC-task.
So every task is doing 500 compounds out of total 950,000,000 compounds ToDo for SiDock@home being 0.0000526315789473684%

Calculating with the progress so far ( 12.493% ) we returned already 237,367 valid tasks ;-) for this target.
