All had run 1d+, and had been running normally. For a printer issue, I had to power the system down and up again. Upon doing so, I now see one has 169 days, one 232 days and the other 316 days, all rapidly increasing. I've suspended them for now. Others that were running appeared to start again, but watching them, the remaining time looks to be in a short cycle. I have suspended all but one of them also. If it doesn't change for a while, I'll suspend that also. It would seem you have an issue with tasks running when a power cycle is necessary... That is several CPU days wasted. No new tasks set.

I can see this machine, I've done the bit on the other machine, come back here and scanned, and it finds itself alone. I'll have another look at it when I get a moment.

(Message 1039) Posted 13 Jun 2021 by adrianxw Post: Looking at this, the use of that switch is discouraged, reasonable enough, but my arrangement means I have multiple BOINC Manager windows open on this machine so I can see what is happening without having to switch the screen from machine to machine, which means unplugging it and replugging to the other system, (mouse and keyboard are easy, I have a switch on my desk that allows this, but it doesn't do the screen), as such, the windows cannot be vast, the screen limits them. The window fills quite rapidly if MilkyWay is producing, Einstein also, but to a lesser extent.

A lot of projects start up with a "one off" goal, then disappear when they think they have enough. Other people in the BOINC world may have started team pages with stats etc. then find that their source has suddenly dried up. It would not be a problem if the project said at the outset that it was going to be a short job. The project here has, for me at least, run trouble free.

On this machine, the work units come, crunch for a little over an hour and return, they are verified and credited. I added the project to the other, almost identical, computer under my desk. On that machine, units arrive, crunch for, typically, 10 seconds and return. They show as failed. The log does not show any error message. I've suspended the project on there. 195 (0x000000C3) EXIT_CHILD_FAILED
