141 days remaining on a WU
(Message 2219)
Posted 9 Mar 2024 by Jay Eichelberger Post: Greetings!! I have a WU that is due today. The Boinc status updated to 141 days remaining.( It just changed to 118 days remaining. Name corona_RdRp_v2_sidock_01431602_r2_s-20_0 Elapsed 3days 2 hours 60 minutes... Deadline Saturday 09March 11:02PM EST (Note: all other deadlines are listed in EDT, I ***assume*** this relates to: From sidock website Task 81010407 Work Unit 52600263 Sent 4March 4:12 UTC Deadline 10March4:12 UTC Note: The deadlines do not match Computer 55116 How abnormal is this? I did a cpu restart for OS updates. I **assume** that the checkpoints for Linux SiDock applications work correctly. Bad assuptions? Other thoughts? I was going to let BOINC or the SI server issue an abort/timeout so that the task information can be complete. I think I found the WU in slot 6. docking_out.log had two interruptions first time it restarted at present -1 WU. second time, it restarted at record 1 docking_out.log is 125996 bytes at present. Shall I try to get other info from /var/lib/boinc-client? THANKS, Jay PS. Days remaining shifted to 101. |

Initial Value for Estimated Remaining Time is too small.
(Message 1764)
Posted 20 Nov 2022 by Jay Eichelberger Post: Greetings! Where does BOINC / sidock get the initial value for initial time remaining?? Today, 20 Nov 2022, I get WU with an initial value of 16 minutes, 36 seconds. As it executes past 17 minutes, the time to complete advances to 5 hours, 18 minutes and is advancing. One disadvantage is that BOINC grabbed a lot of sidock WU with the short estimated times when it obtained WU from sidock. Now, other projects are not getting a chance. Is this a bug? Should I rerun benchmarks? Thanks in advance!! Jay |

8,9 November 2022. website inaccessible
(Message 1749)
Posted 9 Nov 2022 by Jay Eichelberger Post: Hi there. Recently, BOINC was unable to access the website to request WU for 10+ hours. A ping also failed. Is All OK? DNS server problem? I was able to access http://www.ctk.uni-lj.si/about/ and the library. I assume it was a temporary problem. Boinc can access sidock.si now,(9 Nov 2022) but no WU . so are things better?? Thanks, Jay |

My curiosity: How do the SiDock WU compare with those of other projects? Such as: - World Community Grid - Open Pandemics (Scripps Research) - Rosetta Thanks in advance!! Jay |
